TOMOMI RESEARCH, INC. (Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture; CEO: Dr. Tomomi Sato) has developed a prototype of an advanced AI visual inspection system for steel sheet defect inspection process innovation in collaboration with Marubeni-Itochu Steel Inc. under the Kanagawa Prefecture Industrial DX Project Support Program for fiscal 2023, and has started a PoC (proof of concept) experiment at the Tokyo Steel Center.
This system aims to realize a safe and efficient steel defect inspection process, significantly reducing the time and labor required for conventional visual inspections. By combining our innovative AI technology with Marubeni-Itochu Steel Inc.'s in-depth industry knowledge, the system will enable flaw inspection with higher accuracy and speed, setting a new standard for quality control.
