【Notice】TOMOMI RESEARCH to Present Technical Achievements at KISTEC's "GENERATIVE AI ADOPTION SUPPORT PROGRAM" Results Forum
TOMOMI RESEARCH has been selected as a technical expert for two projects under the GENERATIVE AI ADOPTION SUPPORT PROGRAM led by the Kanagawa Institute of Industrial Science and Technology (KISTEC). In these projects, we provided specialized support aimed at improving operational efficiency and inspection accuracy in manufacturing environments.
We are pleased to announce that the results of these efforts will be presented at the following forum.
■ Event Overview
Date & Time: Friday, April 18, 2025 | 13:30–17:00
Venue: KISTEC Ebina HQ 2F Conference Room
Organizer: Kanagawa Institute of Industrial Science and Technology (KISTEC)

■ Presentation Highlights
Case Study 1
Theme: Reducing workload in retrieving handwritten manufacturing instructions using generative AI
Partner Company: Rikazai Co., Ltd. (Representative: Mr. Yuki Komuro)
Technical Expert: TOMOMI RESEARCH, Seonghoon Choi (崔 成熏)
This project focused on dramatically improving the searchability of a large volume of handwritten manufacturing instructions using generative AI. The outcome offers a practical approach for digitizing paper-based documents, particularly beneficial for small and medium-sized manufacturers.
Case Study 2
Theme: Improving AI model performance for automated steel surface defect inspection
Partner Company: Tokyo Steel Center Co., Ltd. (Former Representative: Mr. Noriyuki Yoshioka)
Technical Expert: TOMOMI RESEARCH, Tomomi Sato
In a process traditionally dependent on skilled human inspection, this project introduced AI-based visual inspection technology to distinguish harmful defects from benign ones on steel plates. Our advanced AI model played a key role in moving toward full automation of the inspection process.
■ About TOMOMI RESEARCH’s Technical Support
We provide advanced AI visual inspection systems combining our proprietary FORESIGHT STEREO lighting + image processing technology, which excels in detecting glossy and fine surface features, with the E3 ENGINE, an AI anomaly detection engine capable of building high-performance models from a limited amount of data. Our solutions are designed to be practical and implementable in real-world manufacturing settings.
■ Transforming the Factory Floor with Technology
By introducing the power of generative AI to manufacturing, we help visualize inefficiencies and hidden challenges, enabling both improved productivity and quality. We look forward to sharing how our technologies can drive tangible improvements on-site at the upcoming forum.
